Match Report - Tameside AFC Vets vs Radcliffe Old Boys

Having played well in our 1st two games of the league season Tameside VETS were looking to put in another good performance against Radcliffe Old Boys from the Bolton league in the county cup!

Things got off to a bad start when we lost our number 1 keeper before kick and with no back up goal keeper in the squad we had to play one of our outfield players in goal. We started the game on the front foot passing out from the back & playing some good football when they hit us on the break before our stand in keeper pulled of a worldie of save to keep the score 0-0

Radcliffe eventually took to lead with a well worked counter before adding a 2nd shortly after with some sublime 1 touch football.

Having lost Billy to injury we had to shuffle the pack & handed a debut to Chris in midfield who battled well & provided some more energy in the middle of the park.

We was unlucky not to pull 1 back with Trevor clean through racing towards goal before being tackled by their centre half but could have quite possibly been deemed a penalty before eventually going down 4-0 at half time

2nd half was much of the same where we tried to play out from the back & in pockets in midfield but eventually Radcliffe's quality & fitness shone threw.

Overall their was again some positives to come out of the game & the levels we have shone the 1st 3 games will put us in a good position to claim the table.
